Ken Qualls
Ken Qualls is the founder of Flight Management Solutions, Ltd., and the Mentor Group, Inc., Ken Qualls is recognized as one of the industry's leading experts on flight department management, reorganization, and the needs of today's expanding corporate and airline flight departments.
With an aviation career that spans 45 years, Ken has served as pilot, instructor, and flight department manager / chief pilot for several domestic and international corporations, private flight departments, and major air carriers. Ken served as Assistant Director of Operations for China Airlines in Taipei, Taiwan during the 1990's, where he introduced higher training and operational standards for the B747-400 and MD11 aircraft.
Ken is a seasoned aviator with over 26,000 hours of flight experience. Ken holds type ratings in many of the larger transport aircraft including the Boeing 747-400, 747, 757, 767, 737 and the BBJ series. Ken has the distinction of being one of the few pilots worldwide who is type rated and flown over 9,000 hours in virtually every model aircraft produced by Gulfstream, from the G550 to the GI. He is type rated in more than twenty five jets, and has been an instructor and FAA designated examiner in several of these aircraft. Ken has been an active IS-BAO / IBAC Auditor for several years, and has been instrumental in development of the SMS programs now used by corporate and airline operations. Ken has been an active member of NBAA and FSF for over 35 years.
Ken is a published author on aviation-related operations and safety issues, international operations, and flight department management. He has been recruited for personal consultation (flight operations) by three U.S. Presidents; several CEO's and CFO's of Fortune 100 Corporations; foreign corporations in Asia, Europe and the Middle East; and several flight department heads.
Ken earned his Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan and has recently completed his MBA in International Business from the University of Wales in Cardiff, UK.
